Note that you can enrol for Open UAS studies at the maximum of 50 ECTS credits per semester. One person’s enrolments exceeding 50 ECTS credits are deleted in the enrolment order. Paying attention to this is important when planning your studies.

Learning outcomes:

  • The student understands the special features of aged as a target group for pharmacotherapy.
  • The student knows the most common symptoms in aged demanding pharmacotherapy.
  • The student regognizes the increased sensitivity to toxic effects of drugs related in aged.

Contents and methods:

  • What are the main physiological factors of aging related to pharmacotherapy?
  • What are the main things to concider when guiding an aged person to their medication?
  • What are the main symptoms in aged demanding use of medicines?
  • What are the main issues to concider during monitoring and evaluation of pharmacotherapy in aged?
  • What are the risk situations in physiology that affect drugs in aged?

The student works independently according to the given material and schedule. This course is on-line course. The course is divided into three sections, each of which has its own test. A student may take the course exams three times according to the schedules provided at Learn.

The course covers 3 ECTS credits, totalling 81 hours of student work. The number of hours is theoretical and varies according to student effort.

Assesment methods and criteria:

The student achieves the objectives of the course with good knowledge. The evaluation will be carried out by using the scale approved-failed.
