Fee: Free of charge
You can enroll for Open UAS studies for a maximum of 50 credits per semester. Enrolments that exceed 50 credits will be removed in the order of enrolments.
Xamk degree students who are present or absent cannot enroll for Xamk Pulse’s courses. Enrolments by Xamk degree students will be removed without separate notification.
Contents and methods:
This 2 credit course is implemented as 100% online studies independent of time and place.
The student progresses independently on the study platform according to the instructions.
Learn’s digital learning features promote progress on the platform.
The course has scheduled and assessed assignments.
All assignments in the course must be completed by the end date of the course.
Information on the progress of the implementation is available on the starting day of the course from the Learn course platform.
There is no exam in the course.
During the course, students will also get to know the stories and experiences of international BBA alumni, i.e. graduates, about their studies.
This orientation course runs in English, aimed at people who are interested in studying business in English at Xamk.
A two-credit course corresponds to approximately 54 hours of student workload. The number of hours is theoretical and varies depending on the student’s effort.
Contents of the sections:
Identify your own strengths and interests in the field you are researching.
Assess the suitability of the field for you.
With the help of information and study examples, learn more about studying at a university of applied sciences in the English-language Digital International Business programme.
Short exercises related to language and content, as well as alumni stories, help with this.

The learning materials consist of materials submitted by teachers on the Learn learning platform.
Assessment:
The assessment is carried out in relation to the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the course.
The teacher checks the learning assignments and gives feedback and assesses whether the submissions correspond to the assignment instructions.

Cancellation

Transcript of records
The teacher has one month to give a grade after the student has completed all learning tasks. We will send you an electronically signed transcript of records within about a week after you have received the grade in the Peppi system. The transcript serves as a document if, for example, you are applying for credit for your studies at another university. Studies can also be credited at Xamk if you come to us as a degree student. This course is based on the curricula of Xamk’s degree programmes and the Finnish credits are fully compatible with the ECTS.
