Fee: EUR 50 (EUR 25 / credit) and Hygiene Passport test fee EUR 17. All those enrolled for the course has to pay the test fee, even if they are otherwise entitled to a free course. The test fee will be charged even if you do not participate in the test. The payment link for the hygiene test is in the invitation that we send to you by email approximately one week before the course begins. The test fee must be paid by the deadline given in the invitation. More information about fees here.
Enrollment for Xamk Pulse studies is binding. After the studies start, you will be sent an invoice by email. The fee will be invoiced and will not be refunded, even if you interrupt/cancel your studies.
You can enroll for Open UAS studies for a maximum of 50 credits per semester. Enrolments that exceed 50 credits will be removed in the order of enrolments.
Xamk’s degree students who are present or absent cannot enroll for Xamk Pulse’s courses. Enrolments by Xamk’s degree students will be removed without separate notification. Paid course fees will not be refunded.
Xamk’s path students enroll on Peppi or Tuudo.

All persons who work on food premises and handle unpackaged perishable foods there must pass a Hygiene Passport test to obtain a Hygiene Passport. Finnish Food Authority’s internet pages contain information on the different areas of food hygiene which an employee must have.

Methods:
Independent working online and a Hygiene Passport test at Mikkeli campus 9.4. at 10.00-11.00. On the Learn platform there are links to the Finnish Food Authority material to be studied and instructions for preparing for the Hygiene Passport test.
Price for test 17 eur. The link to pay the test fee will be provided in the course invitation letter. Participation in the test and receiving a hygiene passport requires payment of the test fee.
Identity is checked after the Hygiene Passport test. Identity document must be an original official identity document that has a photograph and is valid. If you have a Finnish personal identification number, it must be stated on your identity document.
The Hygiene Passport is in two parts:
1. paper certificate and
2. plastic card.
The Hygiene Passport is delivered to the candidate´s home address approximately one month after the test.
A two-credit course corresponds to approximately 54 hours of student workload. The number of hours is theoretical and varies depending on the student’s effort.

Assessment methods and criteria:
To pass the test, the candidate must obtain at minimum 34 points out of 40. The candidate gets one point for each correct answer. No minus points are deducted for incorrect answers and, consequently, the candidate can get up to six questions wrong and still pass the test. Empty boxes or answers marked unclearly (making it impossible for the Examiner to decide which alternative the candidate intended to choose) are interpreted as incorrect. (Finnish Food Authority)

Cancellation
If you do not start your studies, please inform us so that we can remove you from the course. This way, there will be no record of the course you did not complete. Cancellations should be sent to avoinamk@xamk.fi. The fee will be invoiced even if you interrupt/cancel your studies.
Transcript of records
The teacher has one month to give a grade after the student has completed all learning tasks. We will send you an electronically signed transcript of records within about a week after you have received the grade in the Peppi system. The transcript serves as a document if, for example, you are applying for credit for your studies at another university. Studies can also be credited at Xamk if you come to us as a degree student. This course is based on the curricula of Xamk’s degree programmes and the Finnish credits are fully compatible with the ECTS.
