- What kind of risks and safety issues are involved in tourism? What are the duties and responsibilities of entrepreneurs and staff in tourism field?
- How do you perform a risk assessment?
- What kind of safety documents are required in hospitality business?
- How do you work responsibly and in compliance with safety norms?
Contents and methods:
The course is designed to take future tourism service providers through the complete process of setting up and running a safety management system in their operation of guided experiences. Delivered in a progressive and practical format, this program exposes participants to what they need to know about risk management and safety practices.

- Risks and safety issues, involved in tourism
- Tourism safety guidelines
- Safe tourism in Finland
- Fire prevention and emergency safety services
- Basics of food safety, sanitation and workplace hygiene
There are no live lectures or group work in this course.
The course covers 5 ECTS credits, totalling 135 hours of student work. The number of hours is theoretical and varies according to student effort.
